So, what IS in a Planner?

OK, so I’ve always been obsessed with planners for a long time. Not that I was an expert at it. Oftentimes it was my own futile attempt to get some order in my life. If you’re going to use a planner, then you need to make a plan, and stick to it. My problem always was that I would get distracted and would want to do all kinds of things rather than setting a few goals and stick to them.

Distracted easily

From day one, when I was a little girl, I was always chomping at the bit, ready to do anything. I was eager to know about everything! I know I probably drove my mom crazy with all the questions I used to ask her. How long do butterflies live? Where does dust come from? Questions like that.

It’s like this: Every time I would see something that fascinated me (paintings, crafts, you name it), I would want to learn how it was done. Art, drawing, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking. I’m sure there are lots of people like me. We get drawn away too easily with seemingly interesting things, only to find out later I was wasting my time at it.

Anatomy of a Planner

So, what’s in a planner? I guess it would first of all have some kind of plan, or schedule, or calendar. So, besides the pretty cover and clipart that makes a planner so fun, is really the meat of it all: a plan and sticking to that plan.

Even though I now have “experience” with making planners, I am still trying to figure out what really works for me. I’m sure everyone is different in that respect. At this point, I am really interested in budget related planning, as I have gotten a hold of this getting out of debt “bug” and really want to implement this into my planners. I am also thinking about adding some kind of habit tracker.

My very first digital planner is based on a printable planner (still available in my Etsy shop). It is called my Rose DigiBujo (digital bullet journal). It has a yearly calendar, with clickable months that take you to the monthly page. Each month’s section has a weekly and a daily page. There is a tab called “NOTES” which you can go to right away to get to your important events. Tabs to go to each month, and index. The index is blank lines, which are customizable, so you can just get to your notes or entries with one click.

My question is, What would YOU like to see in the planners I’m offering? Dated or undated? What kind of things are YOU interested in that I should add to my planners? I am interested!

I also made a devotional journal, Stairway to Heaven, where you can spend some quiet time and get some wisdom from above. This is not your typical devotional, as it doesn’t tell you what to read, except for the “Read the Bible in One Year” schedule. I thought I would incorporate that into a daily or weekly journal. But here is something I added just to see how it would fit. I added a photo of my grand-baby on one page, and put up a verse that really spoke to me. On the right I have a daily “Today” schedule decorated with clipart and emoji.

Which reminds me, what kind of clipart would you like? Please let me know. I would love to see your responses.
